We're eight people in Yogyakarta who genuinely believe that the software you use every day should be beautiful, fast, and thoughtful — and we've staked our studio on proving it.
We believe that most software is designed for the people who build it, not the people who use it. We build for the user — obsessively, relentlessly, pixel by pixel. Every interaction is an opportunity to surprise someone. We don't waste them.
Yogyakarta taught us that craft matters. That slow is smooth and smooth is fast. That attention to detail is not a luxury — it's the whole point.
MagiaPix started in 2021 with two developers, one designer, and a shared Google Doc of ambitions. We were freelancers who kept getting hired for the same projects and figured we'd be better together than apart.
The name came from a late-night argument about what made good software feel different. Someone said it felt like magic. Someone else said it was just pixels arranged well. MagiaPix was the compromise — and it stuck.
Today we're eight people spread across Yogyakarta and Bandung, working on projects that range from street food POS systems to enterprise booking platforms. The ambition hasn't changed. The team has just gotten better at executing it.
Two devs, one designer. First client was a local batik merchant who wanted "a website that looks expensive." We delivered.
Hired our first dedicated UI/UX designer. Projects started winning regional design competitions. Realized craft was our differentiator.
Landed the Nusantara Booking Platform — our most complex project. Pulled 4-month all-nighter season. Zero regrets.
Added mobile development and brand identity to our offering. Team grew to six. Got our first B2B export client (JavaHeat).
Eight people. Strict limit. We'd rather do 12 excellent projects a year than 40 mediocre ones. This philosophy has not always been comfortable.
We've turned down projects where the timeline was incompatible with quality. We'd rather be honest about what's possible than deliver something that embarrasses us — or you.
Understanding Indonesian payment behavior, mobile data constraints, and UMKM workflows isn't optional — it's what separates a solution that works from one that just looks good in a demo.
We'll tell you if your idea won't work the way you think it will. That's not pessimism — it's what you're paying us for. The clients who've worked with us longest appreciate this most.
We don't separate design and engineering. Every pixel decision is also an engineering decision. Every technical constraint shapes the design. The two aren't different departments — they're the same conversation.
Co-Founder · Tech Lead
Full-stack architect obsessed with performance. Built his first app at 16, still chases sub-50ms page loads.
Co-Founder · Design Lead
Studied fine art in Yogyakarta, pivoted to UI. Believes every screen is a canvas, every tap a brushstroke.
Senior Mobile Dev
Flutter wizard. Ships iOS and Android from one codebase and makes it look effortless. Secretly a coffee snob.
We screen clients. You'll never spend a month building something you're ashamed of. Every project has a real human impact.
Rp 2.5 juta/month per person for courses, books, conferences. No approval needed — just tell us what you learned.
One required daily standup. Everything else is async. Deep work blocks are sacred. Meetings need agendas or they don't happen.
New MacBook on day one. Figma, Linear, Notion, Vercel — whatever you need to work at your best. No "business case" required.
18 days base + birthday off. We don't count hours — we count output. If the work is done and done well, take the day.
15% of annual profit is distributed across the team. When MagiaPix wins, everyone wins — proportionally, transparently.
Whether you're a client looking for a serious studio, or a designer/developer who wants to do the best work of their career — we'd love to talk.
